1. Collection of Soiled Laundry at the Laundry Facility
The collection of soiled laundry is carried out directly at the client's location by our transport staff, who are equipped with the necessary PPE as prescribed by the Occupational Risk Prevention Department. This measure ensures the protection of our team against any contamination.
Once the collection is complete, a nebuliser is introduced into the closed truck to fully disinfect the interior and its contents. Subsequently, factory personnel, also equipped with PPE, proceed with the next steps detailed in Section 2.
2. Sorting, Washing, and Drying of Laundry
Receipt of soiled laundry and recording of entry weight.
Classification of laundry based on its characteristics.
Allocation of laundry to the machine according to weight and washing programme.
Drying of terry fabrics in industrial dryers.
Drying and ironing of flat textiles using an industrial calender.
Packaging and distribution of laundry according to client specifications.
3. Washing Process
The washing programme is adapted to the type of laundry being processed and is determined by the batch identifier. Temperature management varies between cold water and 80°C, depending on the textile type and selected programme.
The quantity and type of detergents used are managed by Christeyns Laundry Technology, ensuring optimal disinfection. The dosage management system provides real-time monitoring, detecting any anomalies and triggering an alarm if there is a shortage of products, thereby guaranteeing an effective wash.
4. Drying in Industrial Dryers
Drying is carried out using dryers of various capacities, depending on the textile type:
100% cotton
50% cotton – 50% polyester blend
Synthetic textiles
5. Drying and Ironing via Calender
Flat linen, such as hotel sheets and table linen, is ironed at temperatures between 185°C and 190°C. The linen is then folded by the folding machine according to its type and size.
6. Laundry Dispatch
Once processed, the laundry—whether from dryers or folding machines—is categorised and packaged by client. Packaging can be done by weight or per unit, depending on the client's specific needs. All items are then placed in trolleys covered with branded protective covers.
Laundry Disinfection Management
1. Chemical Washing
Disinfection is integrated into various washing stages. The pre-wash or wash phase includes the addition of specific detergents, which increase the pH and effectively remove dirt and organic residues.
2. Oxidation and Chemical Disinfection
This phase ensures complete disinfection of textiles as well as the removal of residual pigments within the fibres. The disinfectant products used include:
PERACID ASEPSIS (active oxygen-based product)
LUNOSEP HYPO (chlorine-based product)
These products are introduced into the washing cycle at an optimal temperature, controlled by a thermal sensor. The technical data sheets for these products are available in the appendix.
3. Drying and Ironing of Treated Textiles
After washing, textiles undergo either a drying phase (for terry fabrics and uniforms) or ironing via a calender (for flat linen such as sheets, tablecloths, and towels).
These steps incorporate a thermal disinfection process through exposure to temperatures exceeding 170°C, either through direct contact or hot air flow.
